WHAT IS MEDTIME?
MedTime is a reminder for medicine, that we – a group of students of university of Maribor – developed for a competition Imagine CUP 2010. It works through the usage of mobile phones, more exactly through the application on the mobile phone and iconic picture. Why did we decide for mobile phones? Because, Mobile phones are our constant companions in everyday life. Multi-functionality of the usage, of the phone, proves his advantage. In most of the cases, mobile phone isn`t just for passing time and calling or texting someone, but also to connect with the Environment , like paying bills, the connection with the first aid. (Also with the hospital and medical staff).USEFULNESS OF APPLICATION

The application`s main goal is to remind us to take drugs periodically, like the doctor has prescribed. There is going to be a sticker on the box of medications, a Microsoft Tag technology sticker to be exact. A patient would take a picture of this sticker and it would transfer the information onto the mobile phone, that would remind the patient: "Take X amount of the medicine!" There would also be a picture of the drug, so that we could easily identify it. The data of the drugs would meanwhile update in the database of a personal doctor (e-record) and he could have more control of proper usage and abuse of the drugs.
FOR OLD AND YOUNG

If we want to be healthy and I we want to medicate us properly, we have to take the pills and drugs, like the doctor orders. But, we ought to forget that. Nowadays we are very busy with all kinds of things. We have so much on our mind, that we simply forget to take care of our health. Wouldn`t it be great if we could freely garden, fixing our cars, playing cards and meanwhile, our phone would ring that would remind us witch pill do we have to take and how many. Data of the drugs and their usage would meanwhile save itself to the data-base of our personal doctor. And the doctor would also have full control over our treatment.

There would be a sticker on the box with pills, with a Microsoft Tag, and everyone could picture it and use the Reminder for free. Most of the modern mobile phones, already have it, built-in mechanism, all that we need for transport data about any drug. On other phones, we just need to download Tag Reader, that we get on gettag.mobi , and then we simply picture the sticker.
